Short biography:
Tomasz Rak is an Assistant Professor at the Rzeszow University of Technology in Poland. He received his Ph.D. degree in the field of Informatics from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow in 2007. His research interests are in the areas of Communication/Networking and Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Distributed Component-based Web Systems. He is a member of the R&D staff at SoftSyste m(part of SCC Soft Computer) and was a member of the R&D staff at Advanced Technology Systems International. He was a guest editor for books (Elsevier, Atlantis Press, IET, IGI Global, MDPI). 

Longer bio:
Tomasz RAK is an assistant professor at the Rzeszow University of Technology in Poland. He received PhD. in Engineering in the field of Informatics from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (AGH) in 2007. Dr. RAK has extensive experience in teaching, practicing, and research in communications and computer networking. He is a Member of R&D staff at SoftSystem in Poland (part of SCC Soft Computer in the USA) from 2016 (2); was a Member of R&D staff at Advanced Technology Systems International (now NOVOMATIC Technologies Poland S.A.) in the period 2002-2003. His research interests include system engineering, Web system performance modeling and simulation, and Internet systems architectures (clusters). The research activities focus on software engineering, in particular applications of formal methods (Queueing Nets, Petri Nets) for modeling and support of software development of event-based systems. He is an author or co-author of 11 books and 49 articles (international (36) and national (13)) and chapters in standard SCI journals including Springer, IEEE, MDPI, and Hindawi publishers, presentations on scientific international (14) and national (7) conferences mainly related to the specified above categories. He is a book guest editor (8 - Elsevier, Atlantis Press, IET, IGI Global, MDPI), a reviewer in scientific journals (26) with 132 reviews and conferences TPC (50) with 91 reviews. He is a national expert (14) of European Union national programs (2) and the AAL Programme in Brussels.
